A Woman Gives Kids in Need 'Super Powers' in Touching American Express Documentary
American Express's "Robyn's Journey" tells the story of Robyn Rosenberger, a woman who has made more than 6,000 capes by hand for children with disabilites or illness.
Ms. Rosenberger's company, TinySuperheroes, has carried on for two years despite financial struggle. Her mission, she says, is to "empower extraordinary kids as they overcome illness or disability. If you dig into what these kids have overcome and survived, they must have super powers." For every cape purchased, her company donates a second cape to a child in need.
The sentimental spot, directed by Henry & Ssong, follows Ms. Rosenberger at work. Her mission bears sentiment similar to that in a recent ad for Amazon Prime's "Nursery," which told the story of a dad who buys his shy son a superhero costume to give him confidence.
